Zhiwei Hu

I am a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch and a 2026–2027 Jeane B. Kempner Scholar. My research focuses on palliative care, geriatrics, and aging health. My dissertation examines how preventive care, depression, and advance care planning are associated with hospice utilization among older adults with MCI/ADRD.

Before beginning my doctoral training, I studied epidemiology, global health policy, and health economics at the London School of Economics and completed palliative care training at West China Medical Center, Sichuan University.
